Aleeta Kent:
MASTER DOLL ARTIST
"I was at the Professional Doll Making seminar in Sept. 2008. I am holding my doll that I won the pro sculpt contest with. The Native dolls (made for this site) are made of polymer clay over a wire armature. The eyes are glass, and the hair is rabbit. They are one of a kind with no molds used. I used china paint and acrylic paint to add some colour. The under-clothing is hand sewn from a pattern I modified. I tried to make it simple so it wouldn't distract from the Button Robes. The man's arms and legs are poseable, and he can stand unassisted. The woman's legs, and to a limited extent, arms, are poseable and she also can stand unassisted."
Aleeta
"Although Aleeta started off making larger dolls, her interest was soon translated to smaller scales. Her fantastic skills and attention to detail make her a perfect fit for our business. Each item she makes is one of a kind. She has plans for many more wonderful works of art available through this web site. We are proud to have her as our doll and food artist."

Jennifer Elliott

SMALL SCALE ARTIST
"I started my love of miniatures 20 years ago now and my love for micro minis has blossomed in the last 5 years. My bears were born from an idea to make a quarter scale toy store and in this store I had to have bears but to purchase them in 1:48th scale was proving to be very difficult, so I decided to sculpt my own and as a result I had to learn to apply flocking to give a fuzzy warm look to my bears. When people saw them requests poured in to make them for sale and I've been making them ever since and I love it!"
Jennifer
"Operating under the business name Jenny Wren Miniatures, Jennifer applies her numerous skills to the sweetest little bears you ever saw. Each is hand made and has a "personality" of it's own. We are very happy to handle Jennifer's bears and look forward to other products of hers in the future."

Monica Lavoie

FLORAL ARTIST
"Monica is taking a well deserved break at the moment. She and her family are building an "off the grid" homestead in rural B.C., after having moved from Alberta in the summer of 2008. Many of you may know her as "Peaches" from online groups. Monica is an extremely talented floral artist and we are pleased to represent her work. Although she does not have any new work available at the moment, we do carry some of her former products. We look forward to having her back with us soon."

SHOE STRING MINIATURES

Betsy Keddie (l) Penny Johnson (c) and Karen Gahan (r) are ShoeString Miniatures. "We sell a variety of dollhouse miniatures, including our own original line of dollhouse furniture kits and handcrafted 1:12 scale sofas and chairs. We have worked for years in developing our line of original, 1:12 scale, fully functional, laser cut dollhouse furniture kits. These have been cut with the utmost precision and come with detailed diagrams and instructions.
Dianne is ShoeString Miniature's resident needlework expert. She began doing petit point and needlepoint in the late '60's when she found she was able to paint pictures with thread by drawing on the gauze or canvas and then working in the colors. She continues to design in the same way today, working up an original piece and then graphing it. Dianne retired from the work force in 2004 and is so pleased to be involved with ShoeString Miniatures and to have the opportunity to get her creative juices flowing again. We are equally pleased to have such a talented artist working with us and look forward to seeing more of her fresh, new designs in the future."

LINDA AUSTIN

"I am an X-ray tech and work full time in the operating room of a large hospital. I have been married to Carl for almost 32 years. We had 2 beautiful children, a son and a daughter. Our son is married and his wife is expecting our first grandchild in early 2009.
Our daughter went home to be with the Lord at the age of 14. Since then, miniatures has been my life line.
I have been knitting for nearly 25 years but I didn't start mini knitting until 1996. Although I do knit some things for adult dolls, my first love is dressing mini babies. I also enjoy all other facets of miniatures and have branched out into many areas of this wonderful hobby.
In real life I love looking at bling (jewelry) and I figure if I can have it why not my dolls and dolls houses. Making mini jewelry and putting the stones into other objects in my scenes has added a special something as nothing shines or glistens like the real thing.
Linda
"Linda has various interests in the miniature world. She loves to knit in small scales, dressing porcelain babies and children in adorable outfits. She also has a pension for sparkle. Linda has developed a line of scale genuine gems that will take your breathe away. We hope you will allow LA Genuine Gems to add that bit of sparkle you need to make your creation come alive and don't forget a baby or two."

SHER MCGIRR

"I have tried to do this four times now. (I'm not very good at it) so I'm just going to babble and hope you can make something out of it o.k.
I have been creating miniatures since 1990 when my Mother bought a dollhouse kit for one of her grandchildren. We had sooo much fun putting it together, and in that time I found a love of miniatures. I became a dealer in 1994 so I would not have to rob the house expenses. I remain a dealer because of all the wonderful people I come in contact with.
I love working in all scales ( the challenge of creating something I need, has become the passion).
Of all the things I have created, my General store would have to be my favorite. Just about everything was created by hand. My inspirations come from needing an item for a project.
I work in my crawlspace in the basement(now don't feel sorry for me) It has full head room ,heat and all the room I need without having to clean up. An area just for painting, an area for woodwork and an area for 2 or 3 projects at a time. Most important, my son has his area also. We spend many hours together working on our own individual projects. Those times are as friends, not Mom and son. "
Sher
"As you can see, Sher finds it hard to "blow her own horn" but she truly is a talented miniatures artist. She enjoys presenting a variety of handmade products and talking with her customers at shows. She has been coordinator for the West coast Show for many years and has been a great encouragement to us, as well as other artists and dealers. We are very happy to help present her work to the world through our web site".
